A Moment In Time
Project Reflection:
1: In this project we were tasked with writing about a major moment in your life that changed you forever. This moment will be made into a one page narrative description. In this project you want to have your moment come to life. To make sure it looks fantastic we will practice being specific, style and going into depth. During this process we will go through many revision pieces to make it the best work it can be! This story is about you one way you can go above and beyond is to do the challenge extension and make an art piece, video etc. that exquisitely shows it.
2. During this project I learned and dove deeper into topics that I didn't think I would. In the beginning of this project I was skeptical that I wouldn't learn very much and it would just be another story. This was quickly changed after the first couple mini-lessons we did during the project that I was able to incorporate what we learned into my story, which helped it greatly. Another thing that was a big take away was going more depth in the frame of stories and what they consist of the climax, initiating action, setting etc. Looking at my final draft I was able to see major improvements comparing it to my first. Narrative writing can help you grow as a writer through: opening up to your class, going in depth, descriptive sentences verbs and adjectives.
3. The biggest thing that stood out to me was how I learned more then what I expected in the begging. I wasn't super excited for this project and after I wrote my first couple drafts I wasn't really getting a lot done. During one of my big edits I took off a chunk of my story and focused on one big scene. Something changed here and I became more interested and stimulated in the project. In the beginning I wish I would have put more thought into what I wanted my scene to be with my grandparents. I originally had two big scenes in my story, I then cut one out to work and perfect the other. If I had this is in the beginning I feel I could have spent more time putting in descriptive sentences and words.
4. I grew as a person through this project by opening up to my peers. With each new year your put with new people that your not necessarily open to right away. This is a good project that I was able to do this with. Especially when we were asked to share our story with the class I was debating whether to share or not. I decided to share and I am glad I did. Sometimes all you need is reading your story to feel more comfortable with your class.
