MODEL UN PROJECT
In this project we started off learning about the UN and what they do. We then were able to choose what we wanted to do our issue on between both classes. We chose North Korea and that's what we did our research on for our first model UN. After that we started our real and final project on the Israel Palestine Issue. We did all the same steps as before but we were much better this time. Then we had our final project exhibition.

Reflection:
What would you tell another student if they asked why the MUN project was important?
It is important because it really helps you learn and go deeper into really important skills. For example in this project I learned and went deeper on: research skills, debate skills, collaborating, reader and understanding information, and thesis statements. This is a lot of skills to be learning in one project! You learn a lot more leaving the project then you first thought going into it. So just be open minded about the project and you will get a better learning out of it which is why this is important.
Think of this project overall- which habit of mind were you most proud of using during the conference?
Collaboration is what I am most proud of during this conference. During it I sat next to Amina so I was to talk to her about rebuttals why and how this would work. Also since we were for the same solution and I wanted her resolution to pass I could ask her specific questions about her resolution that I wasn't sure about.
What was the greatest challenge you faced in the project and how did you work through it?
The greatest challenge I had in this project was not being overwhelmed by the amount of work we had to do. In this project we were given very big packets of reading and places to write in it. This was extremely overwhelming especially since some were very big numbers of pages with it being double sided. The way I overcame this was by doing some each night so that I wouldn't have to do it all at once, but so I wouldn't feel stressed if I hadn't gotten enough done one night.
What was the most interesting speech, resolution, amendment, or comment by one of the delegates?
I thought that all of the speeches towards not letting the Palestinians in were really good. During the conference I was starting to get overwhelmed on the questions I would be asked because it seemed they had a really good argument and they could poke holes in ours. I was almost starting to get convinced myself that that's the best one. Which leaded me to be a little stressed about the comments they were going to ask me after my speech. But I kept to my resolution and my countrys opinion and did good to me!
