Unit 4 Desmos Drawing and Function Familes:
Here is the link to my Desmos Drawing:
Here is a Picture and some labeled equations:
How did you go about drawing this image? I started this by thinking of something that interests me, this lead my to making the handgun. Since I have seen a lot in my life I have a general picture of what they have and how they look. I asked for help on some of the functions and how I could use them in the drawing/graphing. The toughest equation and part was the trigger guard but I made it out of two parabolas.
How did using Desmos and creating this drawing help you understand function families and their transformations? I really liked this project because we were able to incorporate what we learned, however we wanted, into a drawing. I learned that you can limit a parabola down and use it to have curved lines. I also found vertical and horizontal lines very helpful in this. I realize that we weren't able to do a ton of those because that was not the task, because they are easier lines to make. I found it helpful to be able to view where points were put down so you could easily limit the line.
