VIDEO PROJECT:
Why do Artists Produce Preliminary Plans? (sketches, brainstorms, storyboards, etc?)
Artists produce preliminary plans so they know what they are doing. Working without a preliminary plan can be really hard because you don't know what your doing. We found this out through our project when we didn't have a plan in the beginning. We were confused and didn't make good shots. So we went back and made a storyboard and started to make good precise shots.
How is art used in everyday life?
Art is everywhere you can see it downtown, stores and even in nature. You might be confused by nature but art can be viewed differently to everyone. I can see art in nature by natural things and the way they form. Like a valley shot from high up is art to me, it may be in the makings and waiting for a photographer to come. It is used by communicating things people otherwise may not see or know.
How and why is art used as a vehicle for communication?
You can take art anywhere and communicate it through anything. You can even put it on a car and rive cross country with it. You can send it to different parts of the world and communicate your message.
How does Material Culture influence artistic decisions?
The culture your in changes what you view. Its kind of like propaganda if your around it a lot you start believing it. If your around a lot of strongly opinionated art you might start believing.
What problem-solving skills are employed in making works of art?
Sometimes if you run out of paint and stuff you need to problem solve of how to get more. Maybe if you make a big mess on your art and you are pressed for time you need to figure out how to get it right before your time runs out.
Project Description:
In this project we were tasked with incorporating a bunch of shots and lighting into a video project. We were graded on the shots, the lighting etc. our video skills and editing skills. Me and my group started off by planning out what we were gonna do for our project we had some good ideas but we decided to do it on the building of the new Health Hut, previously called the crack shack. We then planned where we were gonna do it and got to work and got it done. We found the rubric to be very helpful so we would know what we were gonna do. It helped to know what shots we were gonna do and how to do them For example if we were gonna shoot rule of thirds from a worms eye view. We came in on a teacher development day and got work done for most of it. From there we did a lot of critique from our own group instead of outside of our group critique.
